For top-ranked Duke, the last week served as an affirmation. For then-second-ranked Arizona, it was a nightmare.

Duke remained the nation's No. 1 team after surviving a four-game gauntlet that included wins over Texas and Florida, while Kansas replaced Arizona in the No. 2 spot. Michigan State and Villanova each moved up one spot to Nos. 3 and 4, while Notre Dame rounded out the Top Five, jumping from No. 13.

The biggest story of the week was Arizona, which toppled out of the Top 25 after dropping successive games to NC State, SMU and Purdue. The Wildcats capped their trip to the Bahamas for the Battle 4 Atlantis with an embarrassing 89-64 loss to the Boilermakers that had everyone in the program shaking their heads.

It was the first time Arizona lost three straight games before the month of December, per ESPN Stats & Info.

"I wouldn't have predicted we would come down here and finish 0-3," Cats coach Sean Miller told reporters. "That wasn't the goal. But nothing's ever as bad as it seems. And certainly we probably weren't nearly as good as everybody thought we were before we traveled down here."

Purdue had lost its first two games in the Bahamas against Tennessee and Western Kentucky by a combined seven points. The Boilermakers also dropped out of the Top 25.

Saint Mary's, which fell out of the Top 25 as well, was the only other ranked program to lose multiple games over the last seven days. In the Wooden Legacy, the Gaels were beat by Washington State 84-79 and dropped an 83-81 overtime decision to Georgia.

No. 18 Virginia, No. 20 Arizona State, No. 22 Texas Tech, No. 23 TCU and No. 25 Creighton entered the Top 25.

Alabama remained in the Top 25, moving up one spot to No. 24, after a strange weekend in which the Crimson Tide were forced to play with three players in the second half of a loss to Minnesota. Seven Alabama players were ejected from the contest when they left the bench during an altercation, leaving it with just the five players on the floor. After one player fouled out and another was injured, the Tide played three-on-five for the final 10:41.

Freshman guard Collin Sexton scored 40 points and nearly led Alabama to a comeback win, getting it within three points with 1:39 to play in an 89-84 loss. The Tide outscored the Golden Gophers 30-22 while they played three-on-five.
