Kyrie Irving, Joel Embiid, Paul George and More React to Their NBA 2K Ratings

Thomas Duffy

It's safe to say two things about NBA players and their NBA 2K ratings:

  1. Everyone thinks they should be ranked higher.
  2. Everyone thinks their ratings will improve during the season.

Ahead of the game's latest installment, 2K18, several stars were on camera when they learned their score. Kyrie Irving thought he'd be higher for three reasons—"cover athlete, cover athlete, cover athlete."

Kyrie Irving

Expected score: 95-plus

Actual score:  90

"I love it," he said. "It's motivating me now."

Paul George

Expected score: 92-93

Actual score: 91

PG-13 thought he'd be higher because he held his own against LeBron James in the playoffs.

Karl-Anthony Towns

Expected score: Higher than 87 or 88

Actual score: 91

KAT couldn't wait to tell Joel Embiid.

Devin Booker

Expected score: 88-89

Actual score: 86

"Got some work to do," he said.

DeMar DeRozan

Expected score: 91.

Actual score: 89

DeRozan seemed honored to be ranked so high, even though it was lower than what he thought.

Joel Embiid

Expected score: "At least 95. There's basically no way to rate me."

Actual score: 86

The Process was blunt about his rating: "That's some bullcrap."
