Forward Luc Richard Mbah a Moute is heading to the sixth team of his NBA career after agreeing to a contract with the Houston Rockets, ESPN.com's Chris Haynes reported Sunday.

The veteran played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves and Philadelphia 76ers before he joined the Los Angeles Clippers as a free agent prior to the 2015-16 campaign. Mbah a Moute largely served as a starting forward for the Clippers, although he averaged just 17 minutes a night in his first season and 22.3 in 2016-17.

He's never been a scorer, averaging just 6.1 points per game last season, but he shot an efficient 50.5 percent from the field and stretched his offensive game beyond the three-point line with a career-best 39.1 percent mark from deep.

His true value comes as a versatile defender who can guard various shooting guards, small forwards and power forwards. Opponents shot 3.4 percent worse than their normal averages in 2016-17 when Mbah a Moute guarded them, per NBA.com, which made him an attractive role player on the open market.

He will be a serviceable addition for Houston if he provides timely shooting and formidable defense in 2017-18.
