Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly suffered a wrist injury during the Rebels' pro day, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Monday.
According to Rapoport, Kelly will work out again for NFL teams April 22.
Kelly commented on the injury, per Antonio Morales of the Clarion-Ledger:
The injury is a slight setback for a player who can ill afford to any more bad news before the 2017 draft on April 27.
A torn ACL and torn lateral meniscus ended Kelly's senior season after nine games. He then missed out on an opportunity to impress NFL scouts at the NFL Scouting Combine because he didn't receive an invitation to the event.
When Kelly returns for his pro-day redo, less than a week will remain before the first day of the draft. By then, most teams will likely have determined which players they'll target for selection.
This is on top of the past issues about Kelly, as The MMQB's Emily Kaplan outlined last October—issues that include his dismissal from Clemson and a 2014 arrest for allegedly fighting bouncers at a Buffalo, New York, bar and then threatening to bring a gun and open fire at the location.
Bleacher Report's Matt Miller ranked Kelly as the ninth-best quarterback in the 2017 draft class, giving him a fourth-round grade.
