Appearing in their second straight Final Four, the North Carolina Tar Heels men's basketball team can erase sour memories of last year's crushing national championship loss to the Villanova Wildcats.
With a chance at redemption ahead, Roy Williams has no interest in rehashing 2016's loss.
On The Dan Patrick Show, the North Carolina head coach was asked (around eight minutes, 30 seconds into the interview) how many times he watched the last-second loss.
"Never watched the game," he immediately replied before adding that he quickly changed the channel when ESPN replayed Kris Jenkins' NCAA tournament-winning shot.
"I couldn't get the sucker off fast enough," he said with a chuckle.
Well…of course. Why would he relive a crushing shortcoming from the previous season instead of planning for the semifinal showdown against the Oregon Ducks on Saturday? The 14-year Tar Heel coach, who won national titles in 2005 and 2009, knows not to waste time agonizing over irreversible outcomes.
