Matt Hardy Announces Departure from TNA Wrestling on Twitter

Matt Hardy announced Monday he has officially left TNA Wrestling.

Hardy wished the company the best in the future:

The speculation regarding Hardy possibly returning to WWE will only intensify now that he has officially cut ties with TNA. As he stated in the tweet below, "anything is possible":

Hardy won multiple secondary WWE titles and teamed with his brother Jeff to form one of the company's most popular tag teams of the early 2000s.

WWE has also shown a willingness to provide a home for former TNA stars. Bobby Roode is the NXT champion, while Samoa Joe captured the NXT Championship on two occasions before his Raw call-up. Eric Young and Austin Aries have also featured on NXT programming.

Given his experience with the company, Hardy would likely bypass NXT should he return to WWE at some point down the road.

While he turned 42 in September, Hardy is arguably doing the best work of his career after embracing his "Broken" character. The gimmick may not be to the taste of every wrestling fan, but it has been hard to turn away from Hardy when he showed up on TNA programming.

WWE even copied Hardy's "Final Deletion" for a segment between The New Day and The Wyatt Family last summer.

While it would be interesting to see how "Broken" Matt Hardy would fit into WWE's ecosystem, the former TNA world champion's next move will create plenty of buzz regardless of where he continues his career.
