During the New England Patriots' closer-than-expected Week 12 victory over the New York Jets, Tom Brady found himself as the lead blocker when LeGarrette Blount cut across the field on a rushing play.
The star quarterback made a business decision to stand in the way rather than engage a Jets defender. He's not the first passer to avoid blocking duties, and most Patriots fans would prefer he didn't risk an injury for a few extra yards.
Having fun at his own expense, the 39-year-old posted a video on Facebook making light of his harrowing endeavor. He included a caption pretending that it was the planned play.
Blount also joined the fun:
They can laugh after improving to 9-2 with a 22-17 victory over the 3-8 Jets. More importantly, Brady stayed safe and is ready to lead the Patriots to another title push.
