Charlotte Hornets forward Nicolas Batum's CT scan after suffering migraines came back negative, per Chris Haynes of ESPN.

Haynes first reported earlier on Wednesday that Batum would undergo testing. 

Batum, 28, appeared in 70 games for the Hornets last season, averaging 14.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 35.0 minutes. He's established himself as one of Charlotte's key pieces, alongside Kemba Walker, Marvin Williams and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. 

This season, he's averaging 15.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists in 34.8 minutes. 

If Batum is forced to miss an extended period of time, it will be a major blow for a struggling Charlotte team looking to battle its way back into the playoff picture. Batum is Charlotte's best forward and most versatile player, and behind Kemba Walker, he's the team's most prolific scorer.

The team is built around Batum and Walker, and with the Hornets lacking the wing depth they had a year ago, losing the former for a significant period would be tough to recover from.

Marco Belinelli and Jeremy Lamb will be asked to play a bigger role with Batum sidelined, though neither will be able to replicate his well-rounded game. Additionally, Kidd-Gilchrist may need to assume a more prominent role on offense.
