Atletico Madrid made the (relatively) short trip to Barcelona on Tuesday for the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final.
Diego Simeone's side have struggled against the Catalans since Luis Enrique took charge in 2014, but after a tight opening, they snatched a crucial away goal on 25 minutes when Koke freed Fernando Torres to slot past Marc-Andre ter Stegen:

But the striker's evening took a drastic turn for the worse just 10 minutes later, when he clattered into Sergio Busquets and picked up a second yellow card:

The second half started with Lionel Messi and Neymar both coming close to a spectacular equaliser:

The equaliser finally came on 63 minutes when a Dani Alves cross from the right was hit towards goal by Jordi Alaba and turned home from close range by Luis Suarez:

And Barca took the lead for the first time nine minutes later when another Alves cross was met by a thumping header from Suarez:

That's how it finished, with Barca's comeback earning them a narrow lead ahead of the second leg in Madrid on April 13.
Final score: Barcelona 2-1 Atletico Madrid
