At 37 years old, Manny Pacquiao made it known after a discussion with promoter Bob Arum that his April 9 fight against Timothy Bradley will be his last, per Dan Rafael of ESPN.com. But on Wednesday, the boxer told Andrew L. John of the Desert Sun that a return to the ring could happen under the right scenario:  

"It’s hard to say right now.. I cannot say, ‘yes’ or ‘no.’ My decision is to go back to the Philippines and help the people, like I did before. We don’t know yet. I’m not there yet. I don’t know the feeling of when you’re retired."

Pacquiao is one of the best boxers to ever step into the ring, with a 57-6-2 record, 38 knockouts and career earnings of well over $400 million. He is also a congressman in his homeland of the Philippines and is looking forward to performing his governmental duties. 

"My decision right now, that is what I feel,” Pacquiao told John. “I told Bob [Arum] that after this fight, I’ll go back to the Philippines and serve the people, help the poor people, fulfill the duty as a congressman and if I win the election, it’s another great responsibility, a bigger responsibility.”

That feeling might change depending on his result against Bradley. The two have fought two times before, with each man winning once. A second Pacquiao win against the 31-1-1 Bradley would be a nice ending to a storied career, but the possibility of fighting 46-1-1 middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez could be too tempting to ignore. 

However, John noted Pacquiao has already "shot down" the idea of fighting him. But there is one boxer who could coax Pacquiao into putting on the gloves once more, and that's Floyd Mayweather Jr. 

After losing the high-profile bout back in May 2015, Pacquiao told Philboxing.com (via the Sporting News' Brendan Bradford) he wants another shot at Mayweather, who retired after fighting Andre Berto in September. 

If he were to come out of retirement, then maybe there is another chance we see Pacquiao fighting after April 9.
