Williams Active vs. Spurs
Friday, Feb. 5
Head coach Rick Carlisle announced Williams would play against the San Antonio Spurs, per Earl K. Sneed of Mavs.com.
Williams Revitalized in Dallas
Williams has taken on a key role during his first season in Dallas. He ranks highly on the team in both points (14.2) and minutes (32.5) per game, as of Monday, while also orchestrating the offense from the point. It's led to periodic flashes of the high-impact player he was in years past.
Injuries have slowed him down at times, though, with the most notable being a lingering hamstring issue that first popped up during the preseason. That doesn't come as a major surprise, however, as he's only appeared in all 82 games once in his 11-year career.
Now that he's back in the lineup, Dallas needs him to play well if it's going to make serious noise in the West.
