Ranking the Week's 20 Hottest Transfer Rumours with Dybala, Kroos and Iturbe

Karl Matchett

The approaching weekend brings with it another host of fixtures to get excited over, but also a weekend's worth of glossing over transfer rumour columns to see which positions need to be filled in January at each club.

We've rounded up 20 of the biggest and most interesting ongoing rumours from the world's media over the past week, ordering them according to the size of the fee involved, the reputation of the player and the size and success of the buying club.

Remember, these are rumours sourced from other outlets, not Bleacher Report, and we're collating them for your discussion and suggestion over whether they'd be a success or not!

20. Charles N'Zogbia

Aston Villa's new boss Remi Garde has highlighted the lack of commitment from certain players in the team during his first weeks at the club, with Charles N'Zogbia being one of those who he says may be moved on in January.

Per BBC Sport, Garde said N'Zogbia "could have given more" and mentioned "if you spend a lot of money on players who aren't playing it will be very bad news for the team," intimating that the high-earners—including N'Zogbia—may have to depart.

Villa are bottom of the Premier League with just six points.

19. Emmanuel Adebayor

Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Emmanuel Adebayor has been getting paid around £100,000 per week to do precisely nothing since the summer, with Spurs still paying his wages—but a January move looks to now be close to being sealed.

And, surprisingly, it's to Chelsea—with the Mirror's Darren Witcoop reporting the striker has already held talks with the club as well as with Watford and West Ham United.

Adebayor has previously played with Manchester City, Arsenal, Monaco and Real Madrid.

18. Joel Matip

Schalke defender Joel Matip is being chased by Liverpool ahead of a summer move, with the Cameroon international available on a free transfer.

Out of contract and in demand on account of his versatility as much as his ability, Matip was linked with Newcastle United last summer—but Liverpool are now the front-runners to land him on a free, according to the Daily Mail's David Kent.

Team mate Leroy Sane is also being coveted by the Anfield club.

17. Andros Townsend and Federico Fazio

Tottenham duo Andros Townsend and Federico Fazio are likely on their way out of the club in January, with both well out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino.

The Daily Mail's Sami Mokbel reports Townsend will fetch around £15 million and is wanted by the likes of Newcastle and Aston Villa, as well as Southampton.

Fazio has barely featured this season and has been told he can leave immediately, with West Bromwich Albion potentially keen to reignite their interest in him.

16. Eder

Norwich City's search for a new striker continues apace, and the Canaries are looking at Italy international Eder as a possible January addition.

Simon Jones of the Daily Mail reports them looking at making a £7.5 million offer in January to add goals to a front line that is largely reliant on the inconsistent Dieumerci Mbokani and the powerful, but wasteful, Cameron Jerome.

Sebastien Haller and Benik Afobe are other mentioned possibilities for Norwich.

15. Marko Grujic

Liverpool's first transfer under the management of Jurgen Klopp looks set to be Serbian midfielder Marko Grujic, reports the Mirror's David Maddock.

A £5 million move should be sealed in January, which would then see Grujic loaned straight back to Red Star Belgrade for the rest of the season before joining up with his new club in summer.

Nineteen-year-old Grujic is rated as one of Europe's best young talents.

14. Breel Embolo

Swiss attacker Breel Embolo has been linked with a host of English clubs, and Liverpool are pushing to make the first significant move for him, according to Calciomercato (h/t Aaron Flanagan of the Mirror).

Everton, Manchester United and Arsenal are also all looking at the Basel man, who can play wide or up front, and who has already broken into the Switzerland national team at 18 years of age.

He has five league goals in 13 games this season and eight in 23 overall.

13. Simone Zaza

Juventus striker Simone Zaza may be on his way out in January if he does not get more game time in a bid to make the Italy squad for UEFA Euro 2016.

Tuttomercatoweb (h/t Football Italia) reports Zaza's agent suggesting the striker's goals per minute rate, better than any other Juve forward, warranted more game time and that a possible loan move would be a question for the club.

There was "a lot of interest in him in the summer" according to Zaza's agent, though he also mentions there are no ongoing discussions with clubs at present.

12. Graziano Pelle

Italian striker Graziano Pelle is a transfer target for Chelsea, according to Calcionews24 (h/t Charles Perrin of the Express).

The Italy international striker has had injury problems this term and has scored just six times in the Premier League, but with Chelsea keen to add more firepower having struggled all season long, the Southampton forward is the man they are looking at to support Diego Costa and Loic Remy.

With Jose Mourinho having now departed the club, as reported in a statement on the club's official website, it remains to be seen what type of forward will be required by any incoming manager.

11. Granit Xhaka

Arsenal's search for midfield reinforcements has led them to Borussia Monchengladbach enforcer Granit Xhaka, reports the Daily Mail's Simon Jones.

The Gunners have been looking at a list of midfielders, including Ruben Neves and William Carvalho, but Xhaka was watched in both European and domestic competition lately and looks to be at the forefront of Arsene Wenger's plans.

Xhaka's ability to play a range of roles within midfield is thought to be of particular interest.

10. Javier Hernandez

PATRIK STOLLARZ/Getty Images

Real Madrid didn't want him, Manchester United didn't want him, so Bayer Leverkusen signed him...and now the bigger clubs want him again.

Javier Hernandez has been in great scoring form for B04 this term, and Arsenal are the latest side to be linked with a move, with Don Balon (h/t Liam Corless of the Mirror) suggesting the Gunners have made the Mexican their No. 1 target.

The same Mirror report also has manager Arsene Wenger revealing the Gunners are willing to buy in January after injuries left them short of numbers.

9. Juan Iturbe

Here's an unexpected one: Juan Iturbe to Watford.

Not being first choice and unable to recapture his best form means Iturbe is open to a move to the Premier League, reports Simon Jones for the Daily Mail, with an initial loan deal having an £11 million permanent fee involved for the end of the season.

If Watford are relegated, Iturbe could move to Udinese instead—the Serie A club owned by the Pozzo family, who also own Watford and Spanish side Granada.

8. Augusto Fernandez

Celta Vigo's holding midfielder Augusto Fernandez is wanted by Atletico Madrid to bridge the gap caused by Tiago's broken leg.

That's one of the ongoing rumours in Spain's media and, speaking to Marca's Rafa Valero this week, Celta boss Eduardo Berizzo did not discount the possibility that his midfielder would depart, saying "we want him to stay here, so whoever wants him will have to pay what he's really worth."

It would take around €15 million to sign Fernandez, if Celta first buy all his economic rights from Velez, who hold half themselves.

7. Alex Teixeira

Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder is wanted by Chelsea in January according to plenty of reports over the past few months—but the Ukrainian side have now told their English counterparts that Teixeira's price tag will surge if they wait until summer.

That's according to the Mirror's Adrian Kajumba, who quotes manager Mircea Lucescu saying Teixeira was worth €40 million now and the price would go up another €10m if performances continued in a similar vein.

The Brazilian has 26 goals in 26 games this term.

6. Oscar

Oscar is one of the Chelsea players to have been marginalised a little this season, and he continues to be of interest to Serie A champions Juventus, according to Daily Mail's Simon Jones.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder has been in and out of the team for most of the campaign, and Juve see him as the ideal addition to play in behind their strikers.

Juve's poor start has been put behind them and they are back on the surge up the table in Italy—unlike Chelsea in England.

5. Ever Banega

PATRIK STOLLARZ/Getty Images

Sevilla's talented creative midfielder Ever Banega is also being targeted by Serie A side Juventus.

In a similar move to that regarding Oscar, Juve's wish to sign a scheming player to link middle to final thirds sees them interested in the Argentinian player, according to Tuttosport (h/t Football Italia).

Banega has thrived at Sevilla in the past couple of seasons and plays a key role as the attacking midfielder in Unai Emery's usual 4-2-3-1 system.

4. Michy Batshuayi

BERTRAND LANGLOIS/Getty Images

Marseille forward Michy Batshuayi is already in demand, and that interest is only going to increase as he continues an impressive campaign of goalscoring.

The Belgian is wanted by Tottenham, among other clubs, but the Mirror's Adrian Kajumba reports they will have to wait until the summer to make a move for him, with the striker not keen to leave the Ligue 1 club after finding form and fitness and winning himself a regular spot on the international scene.

Batshuayi wants to feature at Euro 2016 for his nation and would likely cost upward of £30 million.

3. Paulo Dybala

Valerio Pennicino/Getty Images

Barcelona officials met with Juventus to discuss a potential move for Paulo Dybala, according to Tuttosport (h/t Football Italia).

The impressive Argentinian forward has shone in spells since joining Juve in summer from Palermo, for around €27 million, and he has already won the admiration of those in Spain with his 10 goals in 23 games.

Twenty-year-old Dybala is open to the move, according to the report, and if further discussions prove fruitful, then Barcelona would be able to make an immediate move for their man as their ban on registering new players concludes at the end of December.

2. Toni Kroos

Denis Doyle/Getty Images

Toni Kroos has had enough of living in Spain and wants to depart Real Madrid for a new club, according to Spanish TV show El Chiringuito (h/t Ed Malyon at the Mirror).

The German midfielder has been almost an ever-present for Real since joining from Bayern Munich, but his performance levels have dipped significantly, and this year, he is yet to really impact in the way he's capable of, being left on the bench for last weekend's game.

Kroos has told his agent to find a new club to join, according to the report.

1. Robert Lewandowski

CHRISTOF STACHE/Getty Images

Bayern Munich's in-form striker Robert Lewandowski continues to be linked with a move away to some of Europe's other top clubs—it's the turn of Manchester United this week.

Bild (h/t Aaron Flanagan of the Mirror) reports the Red Devils are ready to offer Lewandowski a massive £11 million per year salary—around £220,000 per week—to bring him from the Allianz Arena to Old Trafford.

Paris Saint-Germain are also linked with a move for the Polish striker.
