Under Armour Curry Two 'The Professional' Release Date, Pics and Retail Price

Under Armour and Stephen Curry honored Golden State Warriors fans last month with the "Dubnation" colorway of his Curry Two shoe. In November, it seems they're looking to appeal to the "professional" fan.

A black-and-gray heavy colorway of the Warriors star's signature shoe is headed to stores Friday and will retail for $130. Dubbed "The Professional" for official terms, the new edition is far and away the obvious release aimed at those who wear their kicks off the court.

There are two general rules when it comes to shoes: A black and white base can go with anything, and more out-there colorways have to match the ensemble. So when trying to market a shoe to the widest base audience, it's no surprise that companies go to the white-or-black well.

"The Professional" colorway wins with its simplicity and sleekness. Featuring a black base and light gray sole, there's not much more than meets the eye here. The simplicity of design is, um, by design. This is a shoe meant to be worn on casual day at your office as easyily as it is dropping dimes at your local YMCA.

The release runs contrary to the more bold colorways of the early Curry Two promotion. It's promising for the Curry Two's overall sales that Under Armour is going with a multipronged approach, hoping to appeal to the reigning MVP's ever-growing fanbase.

"Stephen is a once-in-a-generation talent and has unprecedented influence on the game of basketball,” Adam Peake, Under Armour’s executive vice president for global marketing, said in a statement, per Jeff Barker of the Baltimore Sun. “His work ethic, uncompromising self-belief and commitment to the community are characteristics that make Stephen the perfect partner to ignite the growth of Under Armour in the sport of basketball and around the world.”

Under Armour is far from done with colorway releases, either. The "Father To Son" colorway was a huge hit among Hornets aficionados, and the "Suit and Tie" colorway will offer another sleek design when released.

As it stands, Curry can't take a loss this year. And that includes when offering a new shoe to the public.
