Kimbo Slice to Face Dada 5000 in Houston: Details and Reaction

Daniel Kramer

Kimbo Slice will fight in Bellator MMA’s next tentpole Feb. 19 at the Toyota Center in Houston. Bellator President Scott Coker announced Friday Dada 5000 will be Slice's opponent, according to Ariel Helwani of Fox Sports.

These two have a history, as Dada was formerly among Slice's entourage as a bodyguard, according to Steven Marrocco of USA Today, before leaving to promote his own backyard fights in a Netflix documentary called Dawg Fight.

His departure didn't sit well with Slice, which creates enticing drama heading into the February showdown.

“They saw it different, so I went my separate route,” Harris told MMAjunkie Radio (h/t USA Today). “They told me I was making the biggest mistake of my life.”

Bleacher Report's Jeremy Botter is among many excited to see these two reach the ring:

Slice, 41, is 5-2 in his MMA career across EliteXC, the UFC, The Ultimate Fighter and Bellator, which he joined in January. He last fought—and won via knockout—in June against Ken Shamrock.

Dada, 38, is 2-0 in MMA fights, and the February fight will be his first sanctioned in five years.
