Fournier Active vs. Suns

Friday, March 4

Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reported Fournier will play Friday against Phoenix.

Fournier Provides Magic With Dangerous Shooter

Fournier battled a hip injury that sidelined him for five weeks during the 2014-15 regular season. As a result, the French swingman was limited to 58 appearances. However, Fournier watched his role grow in Orlando despite encountering injury troubles.

Fournier gives the Magic some punch from beyond the arc. He drilled 37.8 percent of his threes a season ago, and that mark has climbed to 40.4 percent this season.

His spot-up shooting has made him a key piece of Orlando's perimeter rotation—which is largely devoid of knockdown shooters. The Magic have generally had trouble spacing the floor while embarking upon a long rebuild, and his three-point prowess has been invaluable at shooting guard.

Fournier is also better at creating off the dribble than people generally give him credit for. So far this season, he's averaging 14.2 points on 44.8 percent percent shooting from the field.
