Ezequiel Lavezzi has completed his move from Paris Saint-Germain to Hebei China Fortune, where he will reportedly become the highest-paid player in the sport's history.

News of the transfer’s finalisation came via club announcements on Weibo and Wei Xin (h/t ESPN FC) on Wednesday, ending the forward’s three-and-a-half-year stay with the Ligue 1 giants; Lavezzi joined PSG from Napoli in 2012.

According to Robin Bairner of Goal, the Argentina international will cost the Chinese Super League side around €4 million, while the player will pick up an annual net salary of around €10 million, with the potential for €6 million in bonuses too.

That amounts to £400,000-a-week, according to talkSPORT, which reportedly makes Lavezzi the most well-paid player in the world.

Lavezzi is a player who had fallen down the pecking order at the Parc des Princes in the last couple of seasons.

He struggled to dislodge the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Edinson Cavani, Lucas Moura and Javier Pastore from the team; the arrival of compatriot Angel Di Maria this summer has made minutes even tougher to come by.

Now at Hebei, he’ll be hopeful of taking some attacking responsibility again. At his best, the Argentinian is a wonderful player to watch, combining flair, incision and plenty of industry off the ball, too.

Now 30 years old, he may be a little past his very best, but having been in and out of the team in Paris, there will surely be a hunger burning inside him to remind the football firmament just how talented a player he is.

In the Chinese Super League, a division which has attracted names like Alex Teixeira, Jackson Martinez and Ramires recently, he possesses the quality to standout.

His new club have been active in the transfer market as of late too, having signed both Gervinho and Stephane Mbia in January.
