Karl Malone Gives Kobe Bryant Standing Offer to Fight Him

It doesn't sound like former two-time NBA MVP Karl Malone is the biggest fan of Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant.

The two basketball legends played together during the 2003-04 season, going all the way to the NBA Finals before falling to the Detroit Pistons.

Bryant and Malone had their issues during that season, and while Malone claims that he holds no grudges against Kobe, apparently he'd still be open to the idea of fighting the Lakers star.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, Malone gave Kobe an open invitation to "knuckle up", saying:

We had a little issue. I don't hold grudges ... I love Westerns. I'm old-school Western. Back in the day, when you had a beef, you didn't go get guns and knives ... we just go back in the back with no cameras and knuckle up. Get it over with.

It's a standing offer. Look, I don't want no trouble. I don't have a problem. People say whatever they want to say and that's great. I'm 6-9, 272 [pounds] to be exact. I'm not hard to find. I don't want no trouble. But if something got to go down, I'm not playing fair.

The conflict between the two heated up back in December 2004, when Kobe accused Malone of making a pass at his wife during one of their games. The two shared their sides of the story, but it was made clear that Bryant was not happy.

Even after more than a decade, the 2003-04 Lakers team keeps stirring up beef.
