Arnold Schwarzenegger Announced for 2015 WWE Hall of Fame Class

Arnold Schwarzenegger will finally be inducted into the celebrity wing of WWE's Hall of Fame when the company holds its annual ceremony on March 28 in San Jose, California.

TMZ first reported the news, which was quickly confirmed by WWE.

Schwarzenegger has been a major proponent of professional wrestling throughout his career, but most notably for WWE's product. He has worked extensively with WWE since 1999, when he was presented with his very own WWE Championship belt on one of the first episodes of WWE SmackDown. That night, he also got into a physical altercation with Triple H, who was the company's top heel at the time.

“We are honored to induct Arnold Schwarzenegger into the WWE Hall of Fame,” said WWE Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events and Creative, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, per WWE's official corporate website. “His larger-than-life on- and off-screen presence translated perfectly into the world of WWE, resulting in many memorable moments.”

Since then, Schwarzenegger has appeared several times on WWE programming, with none being more important than when he inducted Bruno Sammartino into WWE's Hall of Fame at Madison Square Garden in 2013.

It was revealed earlier this year Triple H "will be inducted into the 2015 International Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio," per WWE.com's Staff

"It is an honor to join some of the world’s greatest athletes and to be inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame. These men and women have reached the pinnacle of their sport or athletic endeavor, and I am humbled to join them on stage at the Arnold Schwarzenegger Sports Festival," Triple H stated earlier this month, per WWE.com.

Schwarzenegger will host that event, so perhaps it could serve as a prelude for Triple H to be the one to induct Schwarzenegger into WWE's Hall of Fame. Given their history, Triple H would likely have highly entertaining stories to share with fans.

However, given the close relationship between Schwarzenegger and Sammartino, it would be fitting for Sammartino to be the one to reciprocate the honors. It would also be another way to sell the Hall of Fame as a must-see event as Sammartino is truly one of WWE's living legends and carries a great deal of respect in and outside the wrestling community. Although, WWE shouldn't have any trouble attracting mainstream media attention with Schwarzenegger heading into the Hall of Fame.

Regardless of who inducts Schwarzenegger, WWE's 2015 Hall of Fame extravaganza is guaranteed to be a must-see event. The company announced earlier this month that "Macho Man" Randy Savage would be inducted, so this is shaping up to be one of the most star-studded classes in WWE Hall of Fame history.
