LeSean McCoy, Darren Sproles, Chris Polk's Post-Week 16 Fantasy Reaction

R. Cory Smith

This season has been an up-and-down one for the Philadelphia Eagles' rushing attack, but Saturday night saw one of the biggest stars come out and shine.

LeSean McCoy was, of course, that star in the backfield with an early touchdown against the Washington Redskins. Meanwhile, Darren Sproles made a decent impact in the passing game and on the ground.

After two straight weeks with 65 or fewer total yards, McCoy broke out in a big way to start Week 16 for fantasy owners. Those in championship games saw the lead back finally explode and live up to his first-round potential.

McCoy's performance was a Christmas miracle for owners in need of a big day from the RB1, as Brad Evans of Yahoo notes:

Outside of McCoy, Sproles was the only player with any production out of the backfield for Philadelphia. His versatility makes him a decent flex play, but most leagues are already ending their seasons this week.

Chris Polk didn't get any chances in the game on Saturday, but he did score two touchdowns on goal-line touches in Week 15. Heading into next season, the third-year back might be worth a late flier in deep leagues for 2015.

As for McCoy, the Eagles' biggest weapon finished the season strong and should finish in the top five in rushing yards in the NFL. Despite his early struggles, McCoy will carry the torch for fantasy owners again as an RB1 next year.
