Lewis Hamilton and Nicole Scherzinger are not just Formula One's super couple, the motor racing equivalent of David and Victoria Beckham, they are a mega brand.
For every image of Hamilton, the successful athlete, punching the air in victory from the cockpit, there is a reaction shot of Scherzinger, the acclaimed pop star, lapping up the glory from the garage.
High-profile relationships are a byproduct of the sport's obsession with glamour, which ensures that talented sportsmen frequently cross paths with beautiful women.
From Hamilton and Scherzinger to Jacques Villeneuve and Dannii Minogue, here are the six biggest celebrity couples in F1.
Lewis Hamilton and Nicole Scherzinger
Lewis Hamilton suffered the disappointment of losing the world championship at the final round of 2007, but he soon compensated for that by establishing a relationship with Nicole Scherzinger the following month.
The road since then has been long and sometimes rocky, with the pair splitting up on numerous occasions over the following seven years.
Hamilton's personal life has often had a direct influence on his performances on the track, with the British driver enduring the worst season of his career in 2011 as his relationship with the former Pussycat Dolls singer ended temporarily.
After their most recent break-up in mid-2013, a sense of stability has paid dividends with Hamilton winning 11 grands prix en route to his second title this year.
And Scherzinger, as she was on the day of his maiden triumph in '08, was there to witness it.
Christian Horner and Geri Halliwell
It's usually left to the drivers, the stars of the show, to enter high-profile relationships, but a team boss has got in on the act over at Red Bull Racing.
Christian Horner, a star in his own right having led the Milton Keynes-based outfit to four consecutive titles, is currently engaged to Geri Halliwell, the former Spice Girl, whom he began dating in March.
According to the Daily Mail, the couple had been friends since 2009, and Halliwell had been spotted at various grand prix weekends in recent years, including Monaco 2011, where the 42-year-old was already found pinning her flag to the Red Bull mast.
Horner and Halliwell's engagement was announced with a notice in The Times newspaper in November, just days after actor Benedict Cumberbatch confirmed his betrothal in a similar fashion.
Jacques Villeneuve and Dannii Minogue
Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 world champion, and Dannii Minogue, sister of Kylie, started dating in June 1999 and got engaged within five months.
The couple never made it down the aisle, however, going their separate ways after less than two years together, although the Canadian has gone on to marry twice since.
Like Minogue, Villeneuve pretended to be a musician for a time, releasing a solo album in 2007.
Flavio Briatore and Heidi Klum
Prior to Christian Horner's rise to prominence, Flavio Briatore was F1's senior ladies man.
The former Renault team principal has frequently been spotted strolling hand-in-hand across a beach with several women over the years, and he counts the likes of Naomi Campbell among his former partners.
It is his relationship with model Heidi Klum, however, that lives longest in the memory.
Klum announced her pregnancy to the Italian in December 2003, but according to Vogue.co.uk, she split from Briatore less than three months later after she discovered that he was having an affair with Vanessa Hilger, a 19-year-old model.
The German quickly established a relationship with Seal, the musician, who effectively became the father of Klum's child as she severed all ties with Briatore.
Now 64, Briatore married Elisabetta Gregoraci, an Italian dancer and model, in 2008.
Eddie Irvine and Pamela Anderson
Eddie Irvine dated plenty of attractive women in his heyday, including actress Manuela Arcuri, Italian beauty queen Lucia Galeone, Irish model Michelle Doherty and Rachel Hunter, the ex-wife of Rod Stewart.
Kelly Brook, the model, also revealed in her autobiography (h/t Independent.ie) that she spent an evening with the former Ferrari driver but referred to their encounter as "the most awkward, uncomfortable date I've ever been on."
Irvine's most famous conquest, though, was Pamela Anderson, the Baywatch actress.
GPUpdate.net reported in February 2006 that the pair were spotted in Los Angeles, with Ewan MacKenna writing that the Ulsterman initially rejected the advances of Anderson in a Manhattan bar.
Their relationship was, rather predictably, all too brief, with Anderson quoted by ContactMusic.com in June '06 as saying: "He's a good friend of mine. Eddie was just too sweet for me."
James Hunt and Suzy Miller
Formula One's first playboy, James Hunt famously slept with more than 5,000 women. With such a track record, you'd be forgiven for assuming that the 1976 world champion wasn't the marrying type.
And it's true, he wasn't—but that didn't stop him.
According to Tom Rubython's Shunt (h/t Daily Mail), Hunt proposed to Suzy Miller just weeks after meeting the British fashion model in Spain in 1974 yet immediately regretted it.
He was allegedly unfaithful to Miller from the off, and as Rubython claims, admitted to a former lover that he felt trapped.
Nevertheless, he soldiered on with the marriage and the honeymoon in Antigua, to which he invited his friend Anthony Horsley, a friend and the team manager of Hesketh, for some company.
For Christmas 1975, the couple traveled to Switzerland, where Richard Burton and his on-off wife, Elizabeth Taylor, were also present.
Burton came across Miller on a ski lift, and they soon had an affair, with the actor—as claimed by Rubython—later agreeing a $1 million settlement with Hunt for what both men referred to as the "transfer" of Suzy.
Hunt was overjoyed with the deal and viewed Burton's purchase of Miller as a favour.
Despite his miserable experience, he married for the second time in 1983 yet was divorced by Sarah Lomax six years later.
Hunt proposed to Helen Dyson, a waitress, via telephone in June 1993 but died the following day at the age of 45.
