Former Pro Bowl running back Harold Green II has been arrested on five counts of assault on teenage girls at Spring Valley High School in Columbia, South Carolina.
According to USA Today's Tony Santaella, the girls, 15 to 17 years old, were employed as trainers for the school's football team, where Green helped out as a volunteer coach. He reportedly touched them on the "arms, backs and buttocks on multiple occasions," also making inappropriate comments.
Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott, per The State's Mindy Lucas and Dawn Hinshaw, said that Green, 46, was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center after turning himself in Monday afternoon.
Green starred at the University of South Carolina in the late 1980s, where he tallied more than 3,000 rushing yards, 800 receiving yards and 33 total touchdowns during his four-year career.
He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 1990 NFL draft and spent nine seasons with the Bengals, St. Louis Rams and Atlanta Falcons. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 1992, and in his last season, he backed up Jamaal Anderson on a Falcons squad that advanced to the Super Bowl under Dan Reeves.
According to GamecocksOnline.com, Green was inducted into his alma mater's Hall of Fame in 2002.
