Two professional athletes, one awesome bond.
Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw and Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford are two of the top players in their respective sports. As it turns out, they have quite the history.
The two stars were teammates at Highland Park High School (Dallas, Texas). Kershaw snapped the football to Stafford on the gridiron, and when spring came around, Stafford reciprocated the favor by being Kershaw's catcher.
Pretty odd coincidence.
Chemistry at those positions is extremely important. Luckily, the two athletes were able to establish a bond in multiple sports.
It looks like both players made the right career choice. Kershaw (No. 7 overall pick in 2006) and Stafford (No. 1 pick in 2009) were both first-round picks in their respective leagues.
Thanks to ESPN's SportsNation for the find.
