The latest rumors swirling around Tottenham Hotspur are more focused on who will be out rather than who will be coming in.
Unsurprisingly, most of those rumors are focused on Gareth Bale.
John Cross of The Mirror is reporting that Real Madrid is prepared to offer Tottenham cash plus Jose Callejon for Bale.
Callejon is believed to be worth around £8 million.
Los Blancos are hoping they can use Callejon as bait in order to get Tottenham to sell its star man.
Would you take Callejon plus cash and get rid of Gareth Bale?
I wouldn't, and I don't think this deal will happen.
The Spurs seem determined not to sell Bale. I highly doubt Daniel Levy will be convinced to sell him at any price. He has made it abundantly clear that Bale is not for sale. According to Cross, it is believed that Levy has placed a £100 million price tag on the Welsh star.
Although Callejon is a good player, I think Tottenham may want someone of higher value in return if the team does decide to sell Bale.
Another player who may be leaving the Spurs is Tom Huddlestone.
According to Richard Hookham of Metro.co.uk, Huddlestone has acknowledged that he may need to leave White Hart Lane in order to get regular first team action.
Huddlestone missed 18 months because of an injury and has since found it difficult to get back into the starting 11.
Both Fulham and Aston Villa appear to be interested in the Englishman.
He could very well be out since he does not appear to be in Andres Villas-Boas' plans. The manager has many options for his midfield, and Huddlestone has fallen down the pecking order.
If he is promised first-team football, I'm sure Huddlestone will leave.
One player that could be on his way to White Hart Lane is Olympique Lyon's Lisandro Lopez.
Jamie Sanderson of Metro.co.uk has revealed that Lopez is ready to quit Lyon because he does not get along with manager Remi Garde. Lopez doesn't believe he can work with Garde any longer and wants out citing arguments between the two.
Supposedly, Villas-Boas has been an admirer of Lopez for a while and would love to have him on his team.
The 30-year-old has scored 11 goals in 29 matches for Lyon.
The Spurs will more than likely be looking for some change in their attack. Emmanuel Adebayor has been less than stellar this season. Far less than stellar, and that's putting it nicely. He most likely will not return. This will make space for Lopez if Tottenham does decide to go after him.
Lyon has valued Lopez at £5 million.
It appears that Tottenham may be his only suitor, at least for now.
If Lopez is available to the Spurs, they should get him.
