He is arguably the most successful among smaller wrestlers in pro wrestling history. From his epic ECW matches against Psichosis to his World Heavyweight Championship victory at WrestleMania 22, Rey Mysterio has proven to be a future Hall of Famer.

And he unquestionably deserves it.

With the accolades of being a WWE Champion, two-time World Heavyweight Champion, two-time Intercontinental Champion, four-time tag team champion and 2006 Royal Rumble winner, there is nothing left for Mysterio to prove. He has also won numerous titles in other promotions such as WCW and AAA, among others, in his nearly 25-year wrestling career.

And he hasn't even reached 40 yet.

In all of this, though, there has been one thing that continues to be a dark cloud over Rey Mysterio's career, especially in the past few years—his nagging injuries. Specifically, his left knee.

It was recently reported (via WrestlingInc.com) that Mysterio was taking time off due to family issues. Now, it has once again became injury-related.

Mysterio recently commented via Twitter about his status:

Good morning!About to C the man, Doc. James Andrews... Things haven't been good since I stepped back in the ring, possibly Acl tear again!

As I said, there is nothing else left for Rey Mysterio to prove. Although a possible WrestleMania match vs. Sin Cara was in the works, even that has been nixed.

Maybe the WWE could give him a proper sendoff by having a mask vs. career match between Mysterio and Sin Cara at WrestleMania 30. However, the very fact that we would be indulged with Mysterio for another year is a bit excruciating.
