One can only marvel at the play of LeBron James over the past few months.  During his recent hot streak, he has shown several times that he is sure to be a legendary figure in the history of the NBA.

It's no secret that LeBron is one of the best NBA players of his generation.  But even compared to his incredible career thus far, his play over the last month has been nothing short of remarkable.

After silencing his critics and winning the NBA Finals in 2012, LeBron James has shown that he has no intentions of becoming a "one hit wonder."  As of March 5, James and his Miami Heat team have a record of 44-14, good for best in the Eastern Conference.

In addition, the Heat are currently on a 15-game winning streak.  The team seems to be gelling at the perfect time as the playoffs are quickly approaching.  And much of this success can be attributed to the individual play of James.

In the month of February, LeBron set an NBA record for consecutive games with at least 30 points and a 60 percent field-goal percentage with six.  In his 13 total games last month, James shot a robust 64 percent from the field while averaging 29.1 PPG, 7.5 RPG and 7.8 APG. 

Thus far in the 2012-2013 season, LeBron has produced triple-digit type numbers game in and game out.  A few recent games, in particular, testify to James' world-class skill.

On February 4, the Heat defeated the Charlotte Bobcats 99-94.  In this, the second of his six consecutive games with 30-plus points and a 60 percent shooting percentage, LeBron put on quite a show.  He made 13 of his 14 shots and finished with 31 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

On February 14, Miami bested one of the top teams in the Western Conference in the Oklahoma City Thunder 110-100.  LeBron shot 58 percent from the field (thus breaking his streak), but still finished with 39 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists.

On February 23, the Heat beat the Philadelphia 76ers 114-90.  LeBron again helped lead the way this time with a triple-double, recording 16 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

On March 1, LeBron and the Heat overcame the Memphis Grizzlies 98-91.  LeBron shot just 28.6 percent from the field, yet finished with 18 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.

LeBron's recent play has established quite a standard for his performance in games.  If No. 6 on the Heat nearly records a triple-double and is said to have had a "bad game," one can imagine just how impressive his numbers are when he "plays well."

James does not seem to have slowed down after winning his first NBA Championship.  He is playing like a man possessed this year, and his performance may very well lead to consecutive MVP trophies and NBA titles by the end of the 2012-2013 season.
