Super Bowl 2013: Ravens Stars Take to Twitter to Celebrate Championship Win

Timothy Rapp

Eventually when we look back on Super Bowl XLVII, we'll remember a blackout, a furious San Francisco 49ers rally, John Harbaugh winning the Harbowl, potentially some pretty bad officiating and, of course, Ray Lewis retiring as a champion after the Baltimore Ravens won a nail-biter, 34-31.

But for a moment, let's allow the victors to enjoy their spoils. Let's share in the celebration on Twitter, where several Ravens shared messages for fans and familes.

We start with Anquan Boldin, a man who knows he doesn't need many words to sum up this evening:

When you catch six passes for 104 yards and a touchdown—and make several clutch receptions throughout the game—you can be a man of few words. Boldin let his play do the talking.

Torrey Smith didn't make a major impact on this game, but he was clutch throughout the entire postseason. And now he gets to meet the President:

Just thought about it...We are going to meet @barackobama

— Torrey Smith (@TorreySmithWR) February 4, 2013

Yeah, I'd be excited too.

Surely, star running back Ray Rice is enjoying this championship. But he still took the time to show his respect for the 49ers, a classy gesture:

Mr. Rice, here's some respect coming right back at you.

Meanwhile, Michael Oher briefly relived the journey he's taken to reach the big game, before throwing out a little "David After Dentist" to show just how surreal the entire experience has been:

Yes, Oher, this is real life, and you are a champion. Congratulations.

One of the best things about winning the Lombardi Trophy has to be the after parties, when the stars come out and join the winning athletes in celebration. This is the portion of the program where we all become very jealous of Bryant McKinnie, who got to be a part of this picture:

Were you ready for that jelly, McKinnie? Did you ask her if she was responsible for knocking the power out at the Superdome?

Meanwhile, Ed Dickson had a lot of people to thank and one HOV to hang out with.

We call this a B-More state of mind.

Brendon Ayanbadejo, who has become as known for being a vocal supporter of LGBT rights as for his play on the field, got to have the moment anyone who has ever played the game dreams of having:

Who hasn't wanted to kiss the Lombardi Trophy?

Remember, even kickers have Super Bowl dreams. Justin Tucker made sure he got his moment with the Lombardi Trophy:

So did rookie Courtney Upshaw.

“@kingsmenlead: @334upshaw41 touchin dat thang! twitter.com/KingsmenLead/s…” it's only right

— Courtney Upshaw (@334Upshaw41) February 4, 2013

What could be better than winning a Super Bowl in your rookie year? Don't get too used to this, Upshaw—it won't happen every year. Soak up every last moment you can.

And once again, congratulations to the Ravens. You went from a team that many left for dead in the regular season to world champions.

It doesn't get much better than that.
