With a typically precise penalty against Cheltenham, Leighton Baines scored his fourth goal of the season, taking his overall tally to 19 in Everton colours.

Not a bad return for a left-back over five-and-a-half seasons.

But which of those strikes stand out most?

Baines has become renowned for his expertise at set piece scenarios, regularly finding the net with some majestic finishes.

In total, 16 of his goals have come from these situations, with just three stemming from open play.

Here's a look at his top five during his time at Goodison Park.

5. Goal vs. Portsmouth 2008/09

We start with Baines' first goal in an Everton jersey, struck in a 2-1 away defeat to Portsmouth.

For several years the Toffees relied almost entirely on Mikel Arteta on set pieces, but this strike showcased the equally lethal potential of Baines.

The England man stepped up, wrong-footed David James and hit a crisp, classy finish that brushed the post on its way to the net.

4. Goal vs. Swansea 2011/12

Fast forward a few seasons and suddenly Baines is Everton's main weapon at dead-ball situations.

This accurate finish against Swansea, in an impressive 2-0 away win for the Toffees, gave Baines his fifth goal of the season and finally broke down a resilient defence.

Once again he brought the ball up and over the wall with impressive accuracy, giving a sprawling Michel Vorm no chance of making the save.

3. Goal vs. Manchester City 2010/11

Next, a rare goal from open play from Baines and indeed his only right-footed strike for the Toffees.

After great interplay with Victor Anichebe, Baines slipped the ball to Tim Cahill who laid it off for the left-back to drill home a well-worked team goal.

It also proved the winning strike, giving Everton a shock 2-1 victory away at Manchester City.

2. Goal vs. Chelsea 2010/11

From the same season, this free kick against Chelsea provided the Toffees with one of their moments of the season.

1-0 down in the dying moments of the FA Cup fourth round, Everton were awarded a free kick just outside the penalty area.

With time practically expired, Baines hit an emphatic finish with the final kick of the game to send the travelling support into raptures. Moments later Everton knocked Chelsea out via a penalty shootout.

1. Goal vs. Newcastle 2012/13

Finally, and perhaps predictably, Baines' recent howitzer against Newcastle tops this list and demonstrates a new side to his set-piece prowess.

Few seriously expected him to shoot from all of 35-yards out, but the England man ran up and unleashed a ferocious drive, leaving Tim Krul grasping at thin air.

An unstoppable, special strike that will take some beating over the rest of his Everton career.
