WWE News: John Cena's Divorce Drama Is Over: Cena and Wife 'Bury the Hatchet'

Voodoo Magic

The biggest soap opera-esque story in everyone's favorite male soap opera has come to an abrupt finish via an unexpected swerve. TMZ reports:

John Cena's divorce nightmare has come to an end ... in fact, the two sides have agreed to bury the hatchet ... TMZ has learned.

...Elizabeth Huberdeau felt like she was blindsided when Cena unexpectedly filed to end their 3-year marriage back in May.

Liz also said she believed Cena was messing around with other women behind her back...but now, Liz's attorney, Raymond Rafool, tells TMZ the two have managed to work things out privately ... saying, "All matters [in the divorce] have been settled and resolved amicably.”

Well, there you have it; John Cena's divorce drama is over.

To be honest, I don't know exactly what to make of all of this, since it seems like they've...completely reconciled? I don't know why, after all the dirt-digging and accusations (namely, that Cena and Mickie James were fooling around in WWE) and animosity, Cena and his wife would just say, "Hey, nevermind, we're good now; don't worry about us."

If this were a pro wrestling angle, it would be written by Vince Russo. And that's not a compliment.

I'm wondering about the timing of all this, especially due to Cena's place in WWE. As everyone who's ever even watched WWE for a minute knows, Cena is WWE's marquee guy; so Cena goes, so goes WWE.

With WWE set to celebrate the 1,000th episode of Raw—and Cena likely to win his first WWE title in a year—as well as the ongoing Linda McMahon Senate campaign, WWE is likely breathing a sigh of relief that Cena's personal life is back on track.

Let's face it: with Linda trying to make it into the Senate and people already throwing dirt at her based on her association with wrestling, WWE is going to want to make sure its most smiling, happiest face is on to the world when people start turning the microscope on the McMahon business; that smiling face is John Cena, the squeaky clean babyface.

Well, he was until the divorce drama; how convenient, then, that Cena has wrapped up the issue (which seemed a little petty—housing renovations?—to begin with) right as Raw 1,000 is coming and election season starts heating up.

I'm not calling conspiracy necessarily, but the timing is awfully good. Do you think that, maybe, Cena was "asked" to figure this out before Raw 1,000? Or is this just random coincidence?
