Several players, including Rajon Rondo, LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, have had fantastic postseasons to date.

Yet while you can make the case for any one of them to be the playoff MVP right now, that honor actually goes to someone else altogether: Kevin Garnett.

Garnett’s numbers aside, part of being MVP is being valuable to your team and you can make the case that no player in the postseason is as valuable to their respective team than Garnett has been to the Celtics.

He may be 36 years old, but he’s producing like he's 25.

Not only has KG averaged 19.9 points and 9.2 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the floor, but in the Eastern Conference finals against the Heat, he’s averaged 21.6 points and 10.8 rebounds, and has played a big role in the Celtics taking a 3-2 series lead.

Among players still playing, only James (29.9 PPG), Durant (27.8 PPG), Dwyane Wade (23.3 PPG) and Westbrook (21.7 PPG) have out-produced KG offensively. But KG is also the leading rebounder among players still going.

He’s been dominant against the Heat, as Miami coach Erik Spoelstra has no answer for him.

Spoelstra has thrown body after body at KG and has started three different centers in as many games, but nothing has even come close to working. Garnett’s been able to do whatever he wants with the Heat defense.

He’s finished down low as easily as he’s been able to extend the Miami defense with the range on his jumper.

Yet it is Garnett’s leadership and poise that are as valuable as the numbers he puts up.

The bottom line is that the Garnett means more to the Celtics than any other player does to his current team.

Without KG, the Celtics wouldn't be in a spot to potentially close out the Heat in Game 6 Thursday night.

If the Celtics get the job done and Garnett has another big night, you can forget all of the nicknames and just refer to him as MVP.
