If you're an NBA fan, regardless of who you root for, you have to respect Ray Allen.
We respect him for his work ethic, that beautiful shot, his commitment to putting the team first and for playing this game the right way.
If we know one thing about Allen, besides his Jesus Shuttlesworth stroke, it's that he's a little maniacal about his pregame routine. Sixteen years in and he has everything down to a science.
When he comes to the arena, where he parks at the arena, what shots he will take pregame, what he's eating before the game and how long he'll nap in the afternoon; it's all carefully mapped out and executed exactly as expected.
There are no surprises with Allen. There are also few opportunities to peel back the curtain and see the work that goes into making a career as successful and long-lasting as his. Last week, the Boston Celtics released a video filmed by Celtics' team photographer Brian Babineau that shows Allen's pregame routine.
This is a must-see for any Celtics fan, Allen fan or basketball fan who wants to appreciate the work that goes into having the smoothest stroke in the league. It isn't any coincidence that Allen shot a career-best 45.3 percent from beyond the arc this season. Look at those mechanics. Perfect.
