Liverpool Transfer Talk: 5 Players Who Could Revive Reds

Karla Villegas Gama

Liverpool needs some new faces on the squad in order to revive and help the team climb trough the Premier League table. The defeat against Sunderland, last weekend, was a clear sign that the team is missing clarity and strength.

The last time Liverpool won a league match was in January and it seems very tough for the Reds to make it to the top four of the tournament.

While their run at the FA Cup continues, the management must start thinking on spending some pounds on the summer.

Which footballers could be a good choice for the club?

Edison Cavani

According to Goal, Liverpool's manager has turned his head to Napoli in hope to sign Edison Cavani.

After Fernando Torres left Liverpool, Luis Suárez, Andy Caroll and Dirk Kuyt were supposed to fill the void left by the Spaniard, but their effort hasn't been enough.

Cavani sits third in the top scorers table with 16 goals, Napoli's most successful striker this season.

Eden Hazard

Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal have been tracking Eden Hazard, a young winger who currently plays for Lille.

At age 21, Hazard was named Player of the Year in the Ligue 1 last season. He's fast and very creative, qualities that can help Liverpool when it comes to attacking from the sideline.

Eden is said to be Kenny Dalglish's target, but the club will have to spend over 27 million euros to bring the Belgian.

Seydou Keita

Despite signing a contract extension with Barcelona until 2014, Seydou Keita could become the Reds' newest player and if the rumor is true, the club's midfield would definitively be blessed.

Keita, a 32-year-old Malian, is an explosive and creative footballer who has played some of the most prestigious tournaments, such as the UEFA Champions League.

He knows how to keep the ball, assist and score. Liverpool could spend as much as eight million euros.

Javi Martínez

At age 23, Javi Martínez has been a cornerstone of Athletic Bilbao. He's a strong defensive midfielder who has the ability to make a run and score. He currently plays as a center-back.

Martínez has been linked to Liverpool several times, the first one in 2009. This season, the Spanish international has played 33 matches between La Liga, Copa del Rey and Europa League.

With Jamie Carragher faltering repeatedly and taking his age into consideration, Javi can be a good choice. His market value is set on 20 million euros.

Wilfried Zaha

The club has put eyes on Wilfried Zaha, a young winger who plays for Crystal Palace, and that can become a Red if the management is ready to pay 11 million euros.

As a left-winger, Zaha has proven to be a great passer and a high-speed player. Breaking the defense is no problem for this 19 year-old footballer, who also knows how to send the ball to the net.

If Liverpool seals the deal, Wilfried will become a starter and a cornerstone for the team.
