College Hockey Power Rankings: UMD Bulldogs Lose, Still No. 1

The Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs defeated Nebraska-Omaha 6-2 on Friday, but fell on Saturday, 3-1.

The loss ended Duluth's 17-game unbeaten streak.

UMD will look start a new unbeaten streak against Alabama-Huntsville.

First Five Out: Denver, Nebraska-Omaha, Colgate, Quinnipiac and Lake Superior State.

Series of the Week: (10) Colorado College at (6) Minnesota, (12) Michigan at (7) Notre Dame, (14) Ferris State at (8) Ohio State, (13) Massachusetts-Lowell vs. Northeastern.

15. North Dakota (12-9-2)

The Sioux split with the Gophers but were outscored, 7-4.  UND faces St. Cloud State (9-11-4) this weekend.

14. Ferris State (14-8-2)

The Bulldogs took three points from Alaska and will face the Buckeyes this weekend.

13. Massachusetts-Lowell (12-6-0)

After starting 3-3-0, the Riverhawks have gone 9-3-0.  Lowell faces Northeastern (8-9-3) this weekend.

12. Michigan (14-8-4)

The Wolverines dominated the Buckeyes this weekend, outscoring OSU 8-1 in the sweep.  The Wolverines are 7-0-2 in their last nine games.  Michigan faces Miami (12-10-2) this weekend.

11. Cornell (10-4-3)

Cornell is on a five-game unbeaten streak.  During this streak, Cornell has gone 3-0-2.

10. Colorado College (13-8-1)

The Tigers split with St. Cloud State last weekend.  CC faces Minnesota in Minneapolis this weekend.

9. Western Michigan (12-7-5)

The Mustangs swept Notre Dame last weekend.  Western Michigan limited the Irish to three goals in the series.

8. Ohio State (14-6-3)

The Buckeyes could not handle the Michigan Wolverines, losing 4-0 and 4-1.  OSU looks to right the ship against Ferris State this weekend.

7. Notre Dame (13-8-3)

The Irish were limited to three goals in their series against Western Michigan last weekend.

6. Minnesota (16-8-1)

On Friday, forward Nick Bjugstad committed a costly turnover which lead to the Sioux's game-winning goal.  On Saturday, Bjugstad rebounded with two goals in a 6-2 Gopher win.  Minnesota will face Colorado College this weekend.

5. Boston University (13-6-1)

The Terriers have gone 10-2-1 in their last 13 games.

4. Union (12-5-6)

The Dutchmen are on a four-game unbeaten streak.

3. Merrimack (12-4-5)

The Warriors took three points from Maine last weekend.  Merrimack will face New Hampshire (8-11-2) this weekend.

2. Boston College (14-8-1)

BC beat Northeastern in Fenway Park 2-1.  The Eagles look to continue their winning ways against Maine (10-8-3).

1. Minnesota-Duluth (15-4-3)

Despite the loss to UNO, the Bulldogs remain the favorites to win the NCAA Tournament.
