The teams that will be featured on the plaques of the members of the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame Class were unveiled on Monday.
Pitcher CC Sabathia will have a New York Yankees logo on his cap after spending the majority of his career in New York and Cleveland, according to the Associated Press (h/t ESPN).
Closer Billy Wagner's hat will feature the Houston Astros while outfielder Ichiro Suzuki will be wearing a Seattle Mariners cap, via ESPN. Dave Parker will be represented with a Pittsburgh Pirates cap and Dick Allen will have the Philadelphia Phillies' logo.
Players and their families were allowed to give input on the team choices to the Hall of Fame, but the final decisions were ultimately made by the Hall.
Sabathia totaled three of his six All-Star appearances in Cleveland before finishing his career in New York, winning a World Series title with the Yankees in 2009. Still, he spent the most time with the Bronx Bombers and has been consistent with the team he'd choose to be featured on his plaque following his retirement.
"The Yankees was the place that wanted me," Sabathia previously explained. "I signed here as a free agent. I've been here now 16 years."
Wagner started his career with the Astros in 1995, blossoming into one of the top closers in the majors. He remained effective after leaving Houston ahead of the 2004 season, though.
From 2004 through Wagner's final season in 2010, he compiled a 2.03 ERA and 0.946 WHIP to go along with 502 strikeouts in 398.2 innings of work. He spent time with the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets, Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves over that span.
Still, Wagner's 464 appearances with Houston were the most out of any team in his career.
The choice for Ichiro was easy, as he made All-Star appearances in each of his first 10 seasons with the Mariners. Suzuki ranks No. 1 on Seattle's all-time hits list as well as the team's all-time batting average leaderboard.
Parker similarly made an early impact to open his career in Pittsburgh, earning four All-Star nods with the team and winning 1978 National League MVP honors with the organization. He also played a key role during the Pirates World Series-winning 1979 season.
As for Allen, he won the 1972 American League MVP award with the Chicago White Sox but he played more than twice as many games in Philadelphia and received National League Rookie of the Year recognition with the Phillies in 1964.
The Class of 2025 will be inducted in Cooperstown, New York on July 27.
