New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams expressed some displeasure on Sunday.
The 27-year-old took to social media Sunday afternoon to post a thumbs down symbol. This post comes after Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported that the team told Aaron Rodgers that it will be moving on from the quarterback in 2025.
The Rodgers news comes as the future of wide receiver Davante Adams is reportedly uncertain. New York went 5-12 in 2024 and missed the postseason for the 14th consecutive season.
These struggles came despite some solid production from Rodgers, who threw for 3,897 yards with 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2024. Adams also had solid production, with 67 catches for 854 yards and seven touchdowns in 11 games for the franchise.
If neither player returns, the Jets will need to find a new answer at quarterback and find another strong option alongside Garrett Wilson at receiver. For a player like Williams, who is under contract through 2027, this timeline may not be the most appealing.
Williams registered six sacks and 37 total tackles in 16 games in 2024. He is a three-time Pro Bowler and a key piece of a Jets defense that has plenty of potential.
However, he will look to keep up his solid play as his franchise looks to figure out what to do on the offensive side of the ball.
