There is reportedly expected to be significant outside interest in Las Vegas Raiders pass-rusher Maxx Crosby and Cincinnati Bengals pass-rusher Trey Hendrickson this coming offseason.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano, a league source believes Crosby and Hendrickson will be "tied up in [trade] talks" throughout the offseason.
If Crosby and Hendrickson do indeed become available, they would join Cleveland Browns superstar Myles Garrett on the trade block, as Garrett went public with his trade request earlier this week.
There is not yet any indication that the Raiders or Bengals are looking to trade Crosby or Hendrickson, but both players have made comments that suggest they may be open to a move.
During an appearance this week on PFT Live (h/t Pro Football Talk's Josh Alper), Crosby acknowledged that the 2024 season was a struggle playing for a 4-13 team, saying: "I've had doubts in the past. I feel like this past year was the hardest part of my career. Battling through injury the whole year, struggling, losing 10 games in a row. Up here, it makes you start questioning a lot of things."
However, Crosby added that he's "the most optimistic I've been" since the Raiders drafted him in 2019 due to the hiring of head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Spytek, plus Tom Brady's presence as a minority owner.
As for Hendrickson, he requested a trade last offseason when he and the Bengals could not come to terms on a new contract, but he ultimately reported to the team and played out the 2024 season.
During an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show (h/t ESPN's Ben Baby) this week, Hendrickson suggested that the only options for him this offseason are a new contract with the Bengals or a trade elsewhere.
Crosby, 27, has been named a Pro Bowler in each of the past four seasons. After never missing a game over his first five seasons, Crosby missed five games with an ankle ailment this season, which required surgery.
The Eastern Michigan alum finished with 7.5 sacks and 17 tackles for loss in 12 games after finishing with double-digit sacks in each of the previous two seasons. Crosby also led the NFL in TFLs in 2022 and 2023, and he was an NFL Defensive Player of the Year finalist in 2023.
Hendrickson, 30, has spent the past four seasons in Cincinnati, recording a total of 57 sacks during that time.
He has been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his four seasons as a member of the Bengals, and he was named a First Team All-Pro for the first time this season by virtue of leading the league with 17.5 sacks.
Hendrickson also finished second in the NFL Defensive Player of the Year voting behind only Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II.
While the Raiders are not expected to be contenders next season, the Bengals are despite missing the playoffs with a 9-8 record this season.
Cincinnati has a lot of work to do in terms of keeping the core around quarterback Joe Burrow together, though, as both Hendrickson and wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase desire new contracts, while wideout Tee Higgins is set to become a free agent this offseason.
