The gameplay trailer for the upcoming PGA Tour 2K25 video game hit the internet on Tuesday, increasing anticipation for the title's February release.
Legendary golfer Tiger Woods is among the focal points of the trailer, which was released on the official PGA Tour 2K account on X:
Other features touted in the trailer include MyPlayer and MyCareer, a new swing technology called EvoSwing and the addition of multiple major tournaments.
EvoSwing is perhaps the biggest change in PGA Tour 2K25 compared to its PGA Tour 2K23 predecessor, as it breaks a players swing down into "contact, rhythm, transition and swing path," per a 2K press release.
Also, for the first time in the PGA Tour 2K series, gamers will get to play the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow, the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club and the Open Championship at Royal Portrush Golf Club.
In PGA Tour 2K23, there were technically major tournaments included, but they did not have the official names and they had to be played at fictional courses.
Now, gamers and golf fans alike can enjoy a truly realistic experience by playing some of the biggest events on some of the most iconic courses in golf.
MyPlayer creations can be improved via "XP bonuses, earned attribute points, and skill tree unlocks," and the characters can be used in cross-platform ranked matchmaking as well.
Standard, deluxe and legend editions of the game will be available for purchase. The standard and deluxe editions feature Woods, Max Homa and Matt Fitzpatrick on the cover, while Woods graces the legend edition cover on his own.
The standard edition of PGA Tour 2K25 can be played starting on Feb. 28, while those who pre-order the deluxe or legend edition can play as early as Feb. 21.
Those who pre-order any version of the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S or PC will be entitled to several extras, including Chris McDonald as a playable character.
McDonald is an actor who played the memorable role of Shooter McGavin in the classic comedy Happy Gilmore. A sequel to the film is set to be released at some point in 2025.
Pre-ordering the legend edition will provide gamers with every possible perk, including McDonald, multiple pieces of in-game attire, virtual currency and much more.
