Becky Lynch has re-signed with WWE, as reported by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, staying with the company for which she has been a main event-level star for the better part of the last decade.
While she has yet to return to WWE television after taking a hiatus from professional wrestling last May, it does beg the question: what is on the horizon for The Man when she does return to the squared circle.
Luckily, there are a few breadcrumbs we can follow while fantasy booking her Raw return and future feuds.
The Return
Lynch has spent years making the Royal Rumble one of her signature events.
Whether it was the culmination of her rise to main event status in 2019, where she replaced an injured Lana to win the namesake match and cash her ticket to WrestleMania, or just last year, when she was the runner-up in a prominent return-to-glory storyline, the annual 30-person over-the-top-rope spectacular has been as fruitful for The Man as any.
What better way to make a major splash than by returning in the 2025 Rumble match as a surprise entrant, popping the crowd and kicking off her road to WrestleMania 41.
A perpetually over Superstar, a win is not necessary. A shocking return that sees her eliminate a few and re-establish herself as a threat to the women's title on Raw will be enough to deem her comeback a success.
It is in that match that she can find her first rivalry back, the resumption of a feud in which she lost the Women's World Championship and her drive to stay atop the mountain in WWE.
The Revenge
The last time we saw Lynch in a WWE ring, she was the recipient of a steel cage door to the head courtesy of Dominik Mysterio as the slimy, second-generation Superstar assisted Liv Morgan to the successful retention of her Women's World Championship.
It was an unceremonious goodbye to The Man for the time being and upon her return, she must settle the score with Morgan.
Not only is it a logical first step on her journey back, but it also serves as a high-profile WrestleMania opportunity for both, despite neither holding championship gold.
Morgan is in the midst of the greatest run of her career, seeing her rise to the top of the Raw brand as one-half of a main event-worthy feud with Rhea Ripley. With her women's title reign finished, WWE officials must find a way to keep her prominent and relevant, and there are few better ways to do that than by programming her with a returning megastar like Lynch.
Morgan, along with Mysterio, robbed her of what Lynch thought may be her last world championship. The best way to reintroduce The Man is through a rivalry with them that culminates in a high-profile WrestleMania showdown between top women's wrestlers.
One ultimately won by Lynch as she avenges the disgrace that defined her exit and propels her forward to her redemption.
The Redemption
Entering 2024, Lynch questioned whether she still had it or not. She lost the Royal Rumble but a win inside the Elimination Chamber in February in Australia cashed her ticket to WrestleMania 40 and what many believed would be her return to championship gold.
Instead, she rolled into Philadelphia and despite her best efforts, succumbed to Rhea Ripley, who was in the middle of a year-long championship reign that saw her emerge as one of the biggest stars in the company.
That loss remains one of the bigger blemishes on her record, one she has yet to rectify.
Since then, Ripley underwent her own journey, forced to hand over the title due to injury shortly after the Showcase of the Immortals. She lost her boy toy as Mysterio betrayed her in favor of Morgan, but ultimately earned her revenge by winning back the title on the Netflix debut of Raw.
What better way for Lynch to complete her comeback than by squaring off with the woman whose star burns as brightly as hers by earning the win over The Eradicator that eluded her in the City of Brotherly Love?
That rivalry can run all the way to SummerSlam or maybe even beyond, wrapping up Lynch's first year back or even stretching into 2026 and the WrestleMania 42 season.
It is a match between the two women on the roster who can, and are, believed to be on the level of their male counterparts in terms of star power and one that can easily main event a premium live event thanks to the equity they have built with the WWE audience.
