A.J. Brown Helps 'Inner Excellence' Become Best Seller After Reading on Eagles' Bench

A viral moment in Sunday's wild-card matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers has led to overnight success for self-help author Jim Murphy.

Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown was seen reading Murphy's "Inner Excellence" on the sideline during Philadelphia's win over Green Bay.

After photos and videos of Brown reading on the sideline went viral, "Inner Excellence" skyrocketed to No. 1 on Amazon's best-sellers list as of Monday morning, per ESPN.

On Tuesday, sales of the book were up 53,273,200 percent on Amazon as a result of the moment:

"I was not expecting that. A real gift," Murphy told The Associated Press by phone Monday (h/t ESPN). "I just looked at Amazon last night and it got to No. 1, so that was a surprise. It had probably never been higher than probably 8 or 9,000. In the thousands, somewhere."

Before Brown read the book on the sideline, it was ranked 523,497th on the best-sellers list.

While some perceived Brown reading on the sideline to be a sign of frustration on a night when he had just one reception for 10 yards, the receiver clarified that it was nothing more than wanting to read.

"I wasn't frustrated at all. I figured that's what y'all probably thought," Brown said, per ESPN's Tim McManus. "Why do you always think I be frustrated? Dang. I like to read."

Brown also said that he often reads on the sideline and that the cameras "caught me that time."

Despite a subpar performance from Brown, the Eagles moved on to the divisional round with Sunday's win. The three-time Pro Bowler will look to find his "Inner Excellence" next week to help his team get one step closer to the Super Bowl.
