Rhea Ripley Beats Liv Morgan to Win Women's Title on WWE Raw's Debut on Netflix

Rhea Ripley defeated Liv Morgan on the debut episode of WWE Raw on Netflix on Monday night to win the Women's World Championship.

Morgan pulled out all the stops to take down Ripley, nearly clinching victory with a frog splash after dishing out a relentless beating. However, Ripley narrowly kicked out before the three-count.

After that, it was all Ripley as she retaliated with back-to-back Riptides, leaving Morgan incapacitated and securing the win via pinfall.

After the match, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio approached Ripley for a hug. Feigning acceptance, Ripley delivered a low-blow kick, followed by a Riptide, before triumphantly parading off the stage. Moments later, The Undertaker rode into the arena on his motorcycle and joined Ripley in a dramatic celebration.

Monday's bout was a long time coming, as it marked the third women's world title match between Morgan and Ripley since the summer.

Shortly after WrestleMania 40 last year, Ripley suffered a shoulder injury due to an attack by Morgan, which forced her to vacate the Women's World Championship. Morgan won the title during Ripley's absence, and she also began wooing Rhea's beau in "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio.

Dominik claimed that he was still with Ripley when she returned from injury, but he turned his back on Rhea at SummerSlam by helping Liv beat her to retain the title.

Ripley got another title shot at Bad Blood in October with the added stipulation of Dom being suspended in the air in a shark cage so that he could not interfere.

Just when it looked like Ripley was about to win the title back, Raquel Rodriguez returned from a lengthy absence by aligning herself with Morgan and attacking Rhea, which caused a disqualification.

Morgan and Rodriguez made life miserable for Ripley in the weeks that followed, even attacking her in the NXT parking lot and forcing her to miss time with an orbital injury.

Rhea returned in time for Survivor Series and led a team against a Morgan-captained squad in a WarGames match, which Ripley and Co. won.

That victory earned Ripley one more championship opportunity, and it came on arguably the biggest episode of Raw in history.

Ripley finally got the better of Morgan on Raw, but it is fair to wonder if Morgan might get a chance to win the title back on Saturday Night's Main Event or at Royal Rumble.
