After being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers from the Brooklyn Nets, swingman Dorian Finney-Smith accomplished something he had long hoped to do with one of his new teammates.

Per Dan Woike of the L.A. Times, Finney-Smith said he finally asked Lakers star forward for some of his signature shoes.

"He said he got me. ... I got the hard part out of the way," Finney-Smith said.

Woike noted that Finney-Smith said he's not very friendly when he's on the court, so he never asked James for shoes over their years as opponents.

The Lakers acquired Finney-Smith along with guard Shake Milton from the Nets on Sunday in exchange for point guard D'Angelo Russell, forward Maxwell Lewis and three second-round picks.

"With this trade, we are thrilled to add the physicality, toughness and elite shooting that Dorian Finney-Smith will bring to our core," Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka said in a statement after the trade. "We also greatly value the playmaking of Shake Milton. We are excited for our fans to get both of these players out on the court."

Finney-Smith is known for his versatility as a wing defender who can play multiple positions. The 3-and-D specialist averaged 10.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists while shooting a career-best 43.5 percent from three-point range across 20 games this season. He's joining an 18-13 Los Angeles team that ranks in the bottom half of the NBA shooting a collective 35.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Lakers head coach JJ Redick told reporters that the hope is that Finney-Smith and Milton are able to play in Tuesday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers (27-4). He added that the plan for now is to have Finney-Smith come off the bench.

Perhaps Finney-Smith will be wearing a new pair of LeBrons when he makes his Lakers debut.
