WWE Reportedly Considering 2-Night Money in the Bank Events
WWE is reportedly looking into the possibility of having Money in the Bank follow in the footsteps of WrestleMania and SummerSlam.
According to WrestleVotes on the Backstage Pass Patreon (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), WWE has discussed potentially turning Money in the Bank into a two-night event.
If that happens, WWE would reportedly likely headline one night with the men's Money in the Bank ladder match and the other with the women's Money in the Bank ladder match.
WrestleMania has been a two-night affair since WrestleMania 36 in 2020, and that move has been an enormous success in terms of getting more matches on the card and making it a weekend-long extravaganza.
It has also been announced that starting in 2025, SummerSlam will become a two-night event with the first such show taking place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
WrestleVotes (h/t Wrestle Ops) added that WWE is also discussing making Royal Rumble a two-night show as early as 2026, which would be a sensible move given the presence of both a men's and women's Royal Rumble.
WWE would perhaps risk over-saturating premium live events and making them feel less special by expanding several of them to two nights, but given how popular the product is currently, it would perhaps be a smart financial move for the company.
MJF Shown in Happy Gilmore 2 Teaser
Netflix released a trailer for the highly anticipated Happy Gilmore sequel this week, and it included a connection to professional wrestling.
At the 13-second mark of the trailer, AEW star MJF can briefly be seen in a huddle with Adam Sandler's Happy Gilmore and other characters:
WrestleTalk posted a still photo of the scene on X, giving fans one of the first clear glimpses into what MJF will look like in the film:
While not confirmed, PWInsider.com (h/t SI.com's Rick Ucchino) reported that MJF is playing one of Gilmore's sons in the movie.
Happy Gilmore is widely regarded as one of the greatest comedies of all time, and it remains beloved nearly 30 years since its release in 1996.
The original movie featured Sandler as a hockey-player-turned-golfer who went on to win the most coveted prize in golf, while also saving his grandmother's home.
It isn't entirely clear what the plot will entail for Happy Gilmore 2, but Sandler will reprise his role as Gilmore, while Christopher McDonald and Julie Bowen will also be back as Shooter McGavin and Virginia Venit, respectively.
The movie will also include some celebrity cameos from the likes of MJF and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
In addition to being a former AEW world champion, MJF has started to make a splash in Hollywood with roles in The Iron Claw and now Happy Gilmore 2.
Happy Gilmore 2 is set for a 2025 release exclusively on Netflix.
Arianna Grace, Channing Lorenzo Announce Engagement
NXT stars Arianna Grace and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo announced their engagement this week.
Grace revealed the news on Instagram, and WrestleTalk posted a photo of her showing off her ring alongside Lorenzo:
The 27-year-old Grace is the daughter of longtime WWE Superstar and current TNA director of authority Santino Marella.
Marella was a beloved comedic character in WWE from 2007 to 2016, and he built up an impressive resume during that time, including being a two-time intercontinental champion, one-time United States champion and one-time tag team champion.
Grace has yet to win championship gold in WWE, but her heel beauty queen character has gained plenty of traction in NXT.
Lorenzo, 27, is part of the D'Angelo Family in NXT, and he has twice held the NXT Tag Team Championships with Tony D'Angelo.
Both Grace and Lorenzo seem to have bright futures in WWE that could eventually lead to them getting called up to the main roster.
