Amid a tumultuous season, New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is hoping that the franchise figures out a way to keep its problems in-house going forward.

During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show on Monday, Rodgers spoke about the Jets' issue of leaking information to the media.

"The reporters doing their job, that's their own prerogative, their own motivation, but you gotta fix, obviously, the content of some of the stuff that's coming out, but the fact that it does come out as well," Rodgers said. "Like, it can't be the norm that there's so many leaks and so many people continuing to have conversations."

The Jets have been the picture of turmoil due to reports of mass dysfunction across the organization. Team owner Woody Johnson hastily fired head coach Robert Saleh five games into the 2024 season and fired general manager Joe Douglas a month later after New York failed to turn things around under interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich.

Last week, it was reported that Johnson made other questionable decisions like using Madden ratings to determine whether to trade for a player, disparaging players behind their backs or letting his teenage sons influence his decision-making.

At 4-11, the Jets are set to miss the playoffs for the 14th straight year, the longest active drought in any of the four major men's North American sports leagues. Rodgers said while he acknowledges the team's struggles on the field, the leaks to the media indicate a culture problem that hinders New York from being a winning franchise.

"When that gets figured out, it'll get a little easier to win," Rodgers said. "That doesn't have a direct impact on the players on the field but it has an impact on the culture and the chemistry and the overall energy of the building, and that needs to get better."

The Jets are on the verge of significant changes this offseason, so perhaps they will be able to figure out how to keep their issues under wraps.

New York will be back in action in a division matchup against the AFC East-champion Buffalo Bills (12-3) on Sunday.
