Suns' Devin Booker Out 2 Games with Groin Injury; Will Be Reevaluated Next Week

Devin Booker will miss at least the next two games with left groin soreness, the Phoenix Suns announced on Saturday.

Booker left the Suns' Thursday loss to the Indiana Pacers with what the team called left groin tightness.

Having already been ruled out for Saturday's home game against the Detroit Pistons, Booker will also miss Monday's road tilt against the Denver Nuggets. He could return at the earliest for Wednesday's home contest against the Nuggets.

Saturday night will mark the first game Booker has missed this season, as well as the continuation of the Suns' injury woes.

After missing Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal for stretches of the early season, the Suns finally had their star trio back on the court for just the 11th time this season against the Pacers.

That lasted for just three quarters before Booker exited the game with a groin injury. He had 17 points, six assists, two rebounds and a steal prior to his early departure.

The Suns will now lean on Durant and Beal to carry the offense as the team waits for Booker's return.

Phoenix has gone 1-9 without Durant and 13-3 with him on the court so far this season (h/t Statmuse).

When those numbers were cited prior to Thursday's loss to the Pacers, Durant pointed out that other players including Beal, Ryan Dunn and Jusuf Nurkić have missed time over that stretch.

"We need everybody on the floor if we're gonna be a good team," Durant said on Wednesday, per Dana Scott of the Arizona Republic. "When we're all healthy, we look pretty solid, but we just want to keep everybody on the floor, man."

Durant added that goal was "easier said than done." He was proved right the next day when Booker went down against the Pacers.

Booker was averaging 25.1 points and 6.4 assists per game prior to his injury. The Suns will want to get him back on the floor as soon as he is healthy in order to give their star trio the chance to finally play together for an extended stretch.
