Thursday's result didn't technically eliminate the Colts, Dolphins or Bengals from playoff contention, but it made it extremely unlikely that any of those teams will make the postseason. And while the Broncos lost the chance to clinch a playoff berth this week, they need only to tied or win one more game to reach the postseason. The Chargers, meanwhile, are a win away from a playoff berth.
In other upcoming games around the NFL, playoff seeding and postseason berths will be on the line.
On Saturday, the Chiefs will be looking to hold onto their two-game lead over the Bills for the top seed in the AFC against the Texans, who in turn are fighting to move higher than the No. 4 seed. A Kansas City win, coupled with a Buffalo loss, would guarantee the Chiefs the top overall seed and homefield advantage.
In the second Saturday game, the Ravens could clinch a playoff berth and pull even with the Steelers from a record standpoint with a win, though Pittsburgh's superior conference record would still keep them atop the AFC North (the teams would have split the season series and have an identical 3-2 divisional record in that scenario).
A Steelers win, meanwhile, would clinch them the AFC North title.
The Bengals, Colts and Dolphins all will be fighting to keep their slim playoff hopes alive, meanwhile, with a loss now officially extinguishing those hopes.
In the NFC, the Eagles can clinch the NFC East title with a win over the Commanders, while Washington can clinch a playoff berth with a win and either losses by the Falcons and Rams or losses by the Falcons and Seahawks.
The Packers will clinch a playoff berth with a win, but can also get in with a loss if either the Falcons and Rams lose or the Falcons and Seahawks lose.
The matchup between the Vikings and Seahawks is huge for both teams, as each is fighting for the chance to win their division and Seattle is fighting to remain in the playoff picture. And the NFC Wild Card picture remains wide open, especially if the Commanders lose on Sunday, with the Seahawks, Falcons and Cardinals all nipping at their heels and the Cowboys and Niners remaining long shots to secure a playoff berth as well.
