Netflix Reveals On-Air Talent for NFL Christmas Day Games, Featuring Watt, Brees, RG3

Netflix is going all out for its first NFL broadcast.

The streaming service, which will air two NFL games on Christmas Day, revealed its on-air talent for the broadcasts on Tuesday.

The list ranges from familiar NFL broadcasters and personalities like Ian Eagle, Mina Kimes and others along with former players like J.J. Watt, Drew Brees, Robert Griffin III and more. Netflix will also have a handful of comedians such as Nate Bargatze and Bert Kreischer.

As far as who will be calling the games, Ian Eagle will serve as the play-by-play commentator for the early game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Pittsburgh Steelers with Nate Burleson and Watt being the analysts. For the late game between the Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans, Noah Eagle will be the play-by-play commentator with Greg Olsen serving as analyst.

It's unclear what Netflix has planned for the rest of its on-air talent. Perhaps they will be welcomed onto the broadcast through the game to offer insight or comedic relief. The Athletic's Andrew Marchand reported in October that Netflix planned to have sideline reporters, so some of the talent will probably take on that task.

Netflix paid $150 million for the two Christmas Day games this year and has a three-season agreement that will let it air Christmas Day games in 2025 and 2026.

Though a handful of streaming services have streamed NFL games, this year marks the first time Netflix has done so. The streaming service aired a sporting event for the first time earlier this year when it was home to the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight.

Getting into live sports proved to be successful, as the fight drew in 108 million viewers globally, the most ever for a streamed sporting event.
