Penn State University Police and Public Safety is no longer investigating the incident that saw former NFL star Jason Kelce smash a phone when he was on campus for a Nov. 2 football game between the Nittany Lions and Ohio State.

"The individual in the video footage circulating on social media has not been identified, and no one has come forward to University Police with a related complaint about damage to personal property," a spokesperson said Tuesday in a statement, per Jenna West of The Athletic.

West noted the Penn State University Police and Public Safety daily crime log said the department initially opened an investigation when an officer "observed a visitor damaging personal property."

Video captured someone using an anti-gay slur when discussing the relationship between Jason's brother, Travis, and music superstar Taylor Swift. Kelce then responded by repeating the slur and smashing a phone (Videos contain offensive language).

The former Philadelphia Eagles center and current ESPN commentator then publicly addressed the situation and said he was "not proud" of his response.

"I think everybody's seen on social media everything that took place this week," Kelce said during ESPN's Monday Night Countdown on Nov. 4. "Listen, I'm not happy with anything that took place. I'm not proud of it. In a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate. I just don't think that's a productive thing. I really don't. I don't think it leads to discourse and is the right way to go about things.

"At that moment, I fell down to a level that I shouldn't have. The bottom line is, I try to live my life by the golden rule, that's what I've always been taught. I try to treat people with common decency and respect, and I'm going to keep doing that moving forward. Even though I fell short this week. I'm going to do that moving forward and continue to do that."

Kelce was in attendance at the game because he was included in a segment for ESPN's on-location pregame College GameDay show.
