Cowboys' DeMarvion Overshown Out for Season with Knee Injury; Uncertain for 2025

The Dallas Cowboys will. be without one of their top defenders for the remainder of the season and potentially in 2025.

Per ESPN's Todd Archer, linebacker DeMarvion Overshown tore the ACL, MCL and PCL in his right knee against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday and is scheduled to have surgery later this week.

Team owner Jerry Jones said he is unsure if Overshown will return next year or in 2026.

"I don't know at this time the time date on his rehab but I just can't tell you how bad I feel for him," Jones said on 105.4 The Fan (h/t Archer).

Early in the fourth quarter of Monday night's contest, Bengals running back Chase Brown crashed into the side of Overshown's right leg on a short run. He was escorted off the field by the medical team and went straight to the locker room.

After the game, Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said the injury was "of serious nature" and "it's not good," per Archer.

Overshown is the Cowboys' second-leading tackler with 90 and has the second most sacks with five, just behind star Micah Parsons. He also has four passes defended, one fumble recovery and an interception returned for a touchdown.

Overshown, a third-round draft pick out of Texas in 2023, suffered a torn ACL in preseason last August, ending his rookie year before it began. He showed plenty of potential in his first season this year but will ultimately have to overcome another setback.

Injuries have been a constant struggle for the Cowboys this year. Parsons missed time early this season due to an ankle injury and star quarterback Dak Prescott landed on the injured reserve in November after a hamstring injury. In total, Dallas has had 13 players on the injured reserve this year.

Amid all the injuries, the Cowboys are 5-8 on the season and heading toward their first playoff absence since 2020.
