Three months after undergoing back surgery, Tiger Woods will be returning to the golf course to play with his son, Charlie.
The PGA Tour confirmed Tiger and Charlie Woods will participate in the PNC Championship from Dec. 21-22.
Tiger announced on Sept. 13 he had microdecompression of his lumbar spine to help alleviate back spasms and pain he dealt with throughout the 2024 season.
The announcement didn't include a timetable for Tiger to return to play. He told reporters last week prior to the start of Hero World Championship that he still had "a long way to go" before returning to competitive golf.
"I'm not physically ready yet to compete at this level," Woods said. "The times I have come back here, I was ready to start competing and playing again. Unfortunately, not this time. I still need to keep training to give myself the best chance going into next year and the events ahead."
This will mark the fifth consecutive year that Tiger and Charlie have played the 36-hole event together. Their first pairing was back in 2020 when they finished seventh after posting back-to-back scores of 62.
The PNC Championship field features 20 former major champions teaming up with a partner, usually a member of their family. Other confirmed participants include Vijay Singh and his son, Qass; Stewart Cink and his son, Connor; and David Duval and his son, Brady.
Tiger will be playing in his first event since The Open Championship in July. He made the cut at the Masters in April, breaking the record for most consecutive made cuts at the tournament with 24.
