Travis Hunter or Ashton Jeanty will become the fourth non-quarterback since 2006 to win the Heisman Trophy on Saturday night.

Hunter is the overwhelming favorite to take home college football's most prestigious individual award.

Hunter and Jeanty have been in a two-man race for the Heisman for quite some time. None of the quarterbacks came close to matching the award-winning buzz of both players.

Two quarterbacks, Dillon Gabriel and Cam Ward, will make the trip to New York as finalists, but neither player is expected to receive any first-place votes.

1. Travis Hunter

The Heisman has been Travis Hunter's award to lose for around the last month.

Colorado's two-way star is arguably the best overall talent in college football and he's shined as both a wide receiver and cornerback.

Offensively. Hunter caught 92 passes for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns.

That's a solid enough season for a wide receiver to be in the Heisman discussion, but then add in what Hunter produced on the defensive side of the ball as well as you have an award front-runner.

Hunter won't be a unanimous winner. A good amount of first-place votes should go to Jeanty, but Hunter should win the award for his two-way play.

2. Ashton Jeanty

Ashton Jeanty put together one of the best rushing seasons we've ever seen in college football.

The Boise State running back went over the 100-yard mark in all 13 of his games and scored multiple touchdowns on seven occasions.

Jeanty finished with 2,497 rushing yards and 29 rushing touchdowns and he helped Boise State get into the College Football Playoff as the No. 3 overall seed.

The rushing performances in any other year might have allowed Jeanty to run away with the Heisman, but he's going up against a unique talent in Hunter.

Jeanty will receive his share of first-place votes because voters were impressed with his rushing and how it led to Boise's standing on a national level.

But the odds are telling us that Jeanty will come up short in one of the best non-quarterback Heisman races the sport has ever witnessed.

3. Dillon Gabriel

The quarterback of the No. 1 team in the country is usually a shoo-in for at least some first-place Heisman votes.

That isn't the case with Oregon's Dillon Gabriel, who will be third at best when the voting results are revealed on Saturday.

Gabriel turned in a solid season for the undefeated Ducks, who are the No. 1 overall seed in the College Football Playoff.

Gabriel threw for 3,558 yards and 28 touchdowns. He finished off the regular season with four touchdowns through the air in the Big Ten Championship Game.

He hasn't compared to Hunter and Jeanty's individual achievements all season, though, and his best shot at hardware is the national championship trophy.

4. Cam Ward

Cam Ward's Heisman stock plummeted in November.

The 4,000-yard passer was on track to make the CFB Playoff with the Miami Hurricanes, but then they lost two of their final three games and were left out of the 12-team field.

Ward had a pair of 300-yard games in the two defeats, but it wasn't enough to balance out two poor defensive performances from the Hurricanes.

Ward might have had a case to earn some first-place votes if Miami went 11-1 and won the ACC Championship Game.

Instead, Ward will get to enjoy a trip to New York and see himself finish either third or fourth on most ballots.

The case for Gabriel over Ward is that the Oregon quarterback displayed few flaws on the way to an undefeated season.
