The 2025 MLB draft order will be finalized on Tuesday afternoon from the winter meetings with the third annual draft lottery.
The Colorado Rockies and Miami Marlins share the best odds to secure the No. 1 overall pick with each holding a 22.45 percent chance of winning the lottery, followed closely by the Los Angeles Angels at 17.96 percent.
The first 18 picks in the draft will be determined by the lottery, though the historically awful Chicago White Sox are not eligible to pick any higher than No. 10 overall as a team that pays into revenue sharing that picked inside the top 10 last year.
Ahead of the draft lottery, we've taken a quick overview look at the upcoming 2025 class, with a list of the top 50 prospects and a position-by-position breakdown as the best available players at each position.
Stay tuned for an updated mock draft scheduled to publish on Wednesday morning.

1. Ike Irish, Auburn
2. Caden Bodine, Coastal Carolina
3. Luke Stevenson, North Carolina
4. Omar Serna, Lutheran South Academy (TX)
5. Easton Carmichael, Oklahoma
Top Prospect Snapshot: Ike Irish, Auburn
A bat-first catcher who started as a true freshman at Auburn, Irish hit .319/.403/.627 with 11 doubles, 14 home runs and 59 RBI during his sophomore season. An improving defender who has a strong throwing arm, he further boosted his draft stock by hitting .325/.438/.433 over 144 plate appearances in the Cape Cod League.
Corner Infielders
Top 10 Corner Infielders
1. 3B Xavier Neyens, Mount Vernon HS (WA)
2. 3B Trent Caraway, Oregon State
3. 1B Nolan Schubart, Oklahoma State
4. 3B Quentin Young, Oaks Christian HS (CA)

8. 3B Andrew Fischer, Tennessee
9. 1B Tanner Thach, UNC Wilmington
10. 3B Boston Kellner, Hamilton HS (AZ)
Top Prospect Snapshot: 3B Xavier Neyens, Mount Vernon HS (WA)
With a strong 6'4", 200-pound frame and 65-grade raw power, Neyens has one of the highest offensive ceilings in the 2025 draft class. He also has the soft hands and strong arm to be a plus defender at third base, and he has been compared to a left-handed hitting version of Austin Riley.
Middle Infielders
Top 20 Middle Infielders
1. SS Ethan Holliday, Stillwater HS (OK)
2. SS Kayson Cunningham, Johnson HS (TX)
3. SS Billy Carlson, Corona HS (CA)
4. SS Eli Willits, Fort Cobb-Broxton HS (OK)
5. 2B Aiva Arquette, Oregon State

16. SS Mason White, Arizona
17. 2B Daniel Dickinson, LSU
18. SS Ryan Mitchell, Houston HS (TN)
19. SS Nick Becker, Don Bosco Prep (NJ)
20. SS JoJo Parker, Purvis HS (MS)
Top Prospect Snapshot: SS Ethan Holliday, Stillwater HS (OK)
Holliday is more physically imposing than his older brother, Jackson, who went No. 1 overall in the 2022 draft. His 6'4", 200-pound frame likely means he will ultimately outgrow shortstop and shift to the hot corner, but he has the power profile and the arm strength to be a perennial All-Star at that position. Don't be surprised if he joins his brother in going at the top of the draft.

17. RJ Austin, Vanderbilt
18. Gabe Graulau, Jupiter HS (FL)
19. Alec Blair, De La Salle HS (CA)
20. Dylan Dubovik, American Heritage HS (FL)
Top Prospect Snapshot: OF Jace LaViolette, Texas A&M
LaViolette posted a 1.047 OPS and 21 home runs as a freshman in 2023, and he followed that up by hitting .305/.449/.726 with 29 home runs and 78 RBI in 68 games last spring while helping Texas A&M reach the College World Series. He has a less-than-ideal amount of swing-and-miss to his game, striking out 81 times at a 24.3 percent clip as a sophomore, but his top-of-the-scale power and plus athleticism for a 6'6", 230-pound slugger make him a candidate to go No. 1 overall.
Right-Handed Pitchers
Top 20 Right-Handed Pitchers
1. Tyler Bremner, UC Santa Barbara
2. Seth Hernandez, Corona HS (CA)
3. Matt Scott, Stanford
4. Kyson Witherspoon, Oklahoma
5. Landon Harmon, East Union HS (MS)
6. Angel Cervantes, Warren HS (CA)
7. Gabe Davis, Oklahoma State
8. Josh Hammond, Wesleyan Christian Academy (NC)
9. Cam Leiter, Florida State
10. Chase Shores, LSU
11. James Ellwanger, Dallas Baptist
12. Cooper Rummel, Dripping Springs HS (TX)

16. River Hamilton, Barlow HS (OR)
17. Payton Graham, Gonzaga
18. Kolten Smith, Georgia
19. Reid Worley, Cherokee HS (GA)
20. Nate Snead, Tennessee
Top Prospect Snapshot: Tyler Bremner, UC Santa Barbara
Bremner bounced between the rotation and the bullpen for the second year in a row as a sophomore in 2024, going 11-1 with a 2.54 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and a 104-to-21 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 88.2 innings. With a fastball that touches 98 mph, an elite changeup and a good slider, he has the stuff to be a frontline starter, though he still needs to prove he's durable enough with a wiry 6'2", 190-pound frame.
Left-Handed Pitchers
Top 10 Left-Handed Pitchers
1. Jamie Arnold, Florida State
2. Kruz Schoolcraft, Sunset HS (OR)
3. Cameron Appenzeller, Glenwood HS (IL)
4. Kade Anderson, LSU
5. J.D. Thompson, Vanderbilt
6. Ryan Prager, Texas A&M
7. Aiden Stillman, Trinity Prep (FL)
8. Conner Ware, LSU
9. Zane Adams, Alabama
10. Ben Jacobs, Arizona State
Top Prospect Snapshot: Jamie Arnold, Florida State
With an elite fastball-slider combination and a deceptive arm slot, Arnold has drawn some comparisons to Chris Sale. The 6'1", 192-pound southpaw went 11-3 with a 2.98 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 159 strikeouts in 105.2 innings, trailing only 2024 first-round picks Chase Burns and Hagen Smith in punchouts. He still needs to refine his changeup as a reliable third offering, but he might be the safest arm in the 2025 class.
